I started this song when I was working on my first canoe. The chorus refers to the mold, a series of plywood cross-sections of the canoe over which the canoe is constructed. The mold is removed about half-way through the building process, but it sets the shape of the boat permanently.

Wood's celebration of cedar and glass.
